Purpose
The
Tournament Players Golf Club was established to provide golfers of all
abilities the opportunity to compete against golfers of similar ability
in tournament play. The
Tournament Players Golf Club is a traveling club and provides the
opportunity to play several times a month throughout the Northern
California San Francisco Bay and Sacramento areas.
The clubs primary goal is to promote golf and golf education.
The club is associated with the Northern California Golf
Association and NCGA membership is provided through the club.
Handicap Indexes are established through the NCGA.
NCGA
membership cards are issued to individuals who join the association
through an NCGA Member Club. This
card, along with photo I.D., serves as proof of current NCGA membership
when securing greens fee discounts and merchandise discounts at Poppy
Hills GC and Poppy Ridge GC. NCGA
membership also includes the NCGA Annual Directory of Northern
California golf courses and quarterly publications.
Membership also entitles members to participate in club
qualifying events for participation in NCGA qualifying events and
tournaments. Other NCGA
qualifying events and tournaments are also available and are outlined in
the NCGA Annual Directory.
Club Play

Tournament play will be in effect at all times. Scores will be
posted by the handicap chairman as either "tournament" scores
or "away" scores, based upon the NCGA
recommendation regarding the significance of the event.

Players will compete in flights based on course index.
·
Pairings will be intermixed by differing flights unless different
tees are being used in which case pairings will be done by flight.

Club rounds played and overall point standing determine
participation in the annual club championship.
Points are awarded to each tournament participant and the
participants overall low net standing.
Points will also be awarded for team play when team play is in
effect.

“Closest to the Pin” participation is a buy in competition
and

Skin participation will also be available with ˝ the
course handicap being used for skin play
to a maximum of 18 strokes. Holes
must be won outright – no carryover.

Communication
Communication
to club members is provided through this website, which contains
tournament results, point standings, signup sheets for future
tournaments, and subjects of interest. Members may elect to be included
in an email list for club announcements, tee-time pairings, and other
subjects of interest.

Dues
The
dues for the Tournament Players Golf Club are $90.00
a year for new members and $80.00 a year for
returning members or new members with a current NCGA membership.
Membership includes the annual dinner after the final round of the club
championship. The price for
the annual dinner for guests is $30.00 and can be paid when the planning
for the dinner occurs in late July and August.
